Dennis L. Hawkinson, 44, of Cherry Valley, died at 2:22 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 1999, in his home. Born April 14, 1955, in Rockford, the son of Daryl and Stella (Brudnowski) Hawkinson. Married Cynthia Stahl on May 21, 1988, in Rockford. He was in partnership at Appraisal Research Inc. Member of St. Rita Catholic Church, president of Pastoral Council, chairman for the annual Festa Rita and participated in St. Rita men's basketball group. Member of Appraisal Institute. He loved coaching his children in baseball and basketball, and volunteering time with his son's Cub Scout pack. As a youth, he obtained the rank of Sea Scout. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf, and played in the St. Pat Golf League. Graduated from Auburn High School and Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Survivors include wife, Cindy sons Nicholas and Michael Hawkinson of Cherry Valley, parents, Daryl and Stella Hawkinson of Rockford; brother, David (Rosann) Hawkinson of Rockford; father-and mother-in-law, Gerald and Mary Jane Stahl of Winnebago, three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by grandparents.
Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, May 3, in St. Rita Catholic Church, with the Rev. Eric R. Barr officiating. Visitation 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 2, with Christian wake service at 4:15, in Fitzgerald & Associates Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road and 9 a.m. to service time Monday in the church. Memorials to the family.
