Born Jan. 28, 1944, in Wilson, Ark., the son of Mildred Barnes and Willie Barnes Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Kenneth worked as a school teacher and coach at Auburn High School and retired after 40 years of employment in June 2011. He played basketball for Stephen Decatur High School "The Running Reds". He helped take them to the championship. He is also in the Basketball Hall of Fame. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, Willie Barnes Jr., of Decatur; sisters, Jimmie Lee (Cornell Sr.) Mitchell of Decatur; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents and brother, John H. Barnes. Service celebrating his life at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Main Street Church of the Living God. Burial in Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur. Professional services entrusted to Walker Funeral Service and Chapel, Decatur
