Our beloved Rachel, nicknamed 'MoMo' by her grandchildren, left us much too soon on January 4, 2013 at the age of 57. We are saddened by her death, but take comfort in the beautiful memories of love and devotion she had for her family.
Rachel was born on October 31, 1955 in Rockford, IL to John and Barbara Gridley Carlson. Rachel graduated from Auburn High School in 1973. She married and had her son, Gabriel Griffith, who has always been the light of her life. She traveled around the country to many places, later divorced, but returned to Utah where she met her beloved husband, Paul Jackson in 1996. They settled in a beautiful home in West Jordan, UT and together they shared many adventures. Rachel loved being surrounded by family, and she took special pride in her grand-babies, Adison, Noah, Zane, Kayson, Brittany (Sergio), Rileigh, Christian, Chandler, Emily, and Amelia.
Rachel was an extremely hard worker, and was always driven to learn. She received many degrees, including her Master's degree from the University of Phoenix. Rachel used her knowledge to help others in need, and provide love and support to those around her.
Rachel is survived by her husband Paul, son Gabriel (Heather), step-daughters Lindsey, Melissa (Steve), Jeaniel (Trace) and Kari (Tyrone), many grandchildren, mother (Barbara), sister Becky (Marc), brothers Charlie (Sue), John (Amy), Eric (Becky), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her dear aunt Margie Fulton and father, John R. Carlson.
The family will be hosting an Open House celebrating Rachel's life on Sunday, January 13, 2013, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Hampton Inn and Suites located at 3923 W Center Park Drive, West Jordan, UT.
Our beloved Rachel will be forever missed, and her kindness and love will always be felt by all who knew her.
