Jim was a great guy to know at Auburn. I knew him from being on the swim team. We did not have any classes together. He and Tom Caccia were co-captains of the senior squad - they were the tall guys. Brian Clayton, Mark Gilmore and I made up the rest of the Senior squad. There were entertaining moments and conversations that transpired. We encouraged each other and his one-of-the-guys laugh and smile, along with Clayton's, Caccia's and Gilmore's made the aftermath of workouts doing laps easier to recover from. I would just laugh with them , they were so funny ... especailly Gilmore. He invited us swimmers to his home in south Rockford for a senior year get-together and it was a pleasant memory. I never saw him again after high school but I enjoyed his comraderie and kindness the three years that I swam with him. Rest in Peace, Jim.
