GEORGE B. MOORE, 88 KING, Wis. - George B. Moore, 88, of King, formerly of Byron, Ill., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.  
Born Oct. 26, 1920, in Bloomington, Ill., the son of Charles and Sylvia (Reeder) Moore.  Married Lois Yvonne Thompson of Lexington, Ill., on Dec. 30, 1944, in Normal, Ill.
George served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Christian Church in Normal. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. He taught at all grade levels, specializing in vocational education.
George raised miniature horses and had received national recognition in the show ring. He and his miniature horses also had been featured on national television. His miniature horse farm and petting zoo in Neillsville, was called Grandpa's Playpen.
Survived by wife, Lois; daughter, Patricia (Joseph) Adkins of Westfield; son, Douglas (Linda) Moore of Owatonna, Minn.; son-in-law, Terry Seabold of Byron, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Mildred) Moore of Aniwa.  Predeceased by daughter, Cheryl Seabold; parents; and brother, Charles Moore.  Memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, in the main chapel of the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to time of service.
