Adelaide N. Olson, 77, 428 N. Prospect St., died at 2:36 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 1988, in Swedish American Hospital after a short illness.
Born May 16, 1910, in Oakland, Neb., daughter of John and Ida Nelson.  Lived 39 years in Rockford, coming from Skokie.  Married Edwin G. Olson in Oakland December 26, 1934; he died in Rockford, Jan. 2, 1978.  She was a registered nurse, employed as school nurse at Auburn High School 15 years.
After retirement was volunteer at crippled children’s clinics.  Member Bethesda Covenant Church.  Graduated from Oakland High School, attended Wheaton College, graduated from Northwestern University School of Nursing with B.S. degree in 1932. 
Survivors include three sons, Ted F., Edina, Minn., Craig E., Brighton, Mass., and Dr. J. Steven, Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gordon and Cameron Nelson, Oakland.
Services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 in Bethesda Covenant Church, with the Rev. Clifford Johnson, pastor, officiating.  Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from noon to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.  Memorials to the church.  Arrangements by FRED C. OLSON MORTUARY, 1001 2nd Ave.
