Jeffrey Cellitti

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Jeffrey Lynn Cellitti passed away on July 28, 2024 at the age of 70 years old.

He was born in Rockford, IL on April 2, 1954 to parents Joseph and Eva Cellitti.  From a young age Jeff developed an eye for design including painting and interior designing.  He began working as a self-employed painter at the age of 15 and developed a prominent business in Rockford Il and the surrounding area.  He had the pleasure of working with many of his family members including his children Justin, Joe, and Ryan as well as his grandson Andrew Cellitti.

Jeff met his wife Susan at age 18.  They built a beautiful life together and were married for 49 years. Jeff and Sue’s dearest friends were John and Sybil Cunnigham who they studied the Bible with and developed their love for Jehovah God.  Jeff was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1983.  He faithfully shared Bible truths with everyone he met.  Two scriptures that Jeff loved and represented his life were Isaiah 43:10 and Matthew 24:14.

Jeff loved art and music and listened to music all day long.  He enjoyed spending time gardening and creating beautiful one of a kind Japanese gardens and waterfalls.  He was always busy working on projects in the yard, remodeling, and loved teaching his children and grandchildren new things.  Jeff’s closest friend was Rick Curly who Jeff could always count on for a daily conversation.

Jeff was known by others as a very generous man that was always willing to help someone in need.  His laugh was contagious, and he enjoyed playing pranks on his grandchildren chuckling in his unique way.

In 2012 Jeff and Sue bought a home in Cape Coral, Florida and eventually moved there full time in 2017.  Jeff enjoyed living in such a beautiful place and spending days on the beach or taking walks.

He leaves behind his children Justin (Jenny) Cellitti, Joseph Cellitti, Ryan (Brittany) Cellitti; grandchildren Jenna, Adriana, Andrew, Elliott, and Matthew; siblings Roseanne, Linda, Rebecca, Greg, Gary, Paulette, Cindy, Pam, Michelle, and Jimmy.

He was preceded in death by his father Joesph Cellitti, mother Eva Cellitti, brothers Bob, Mike, Dennis, Dave, and Bill.
