Larry C. "Jolly" Washington 1954—2017

Larry C. "Jolly" Washington, 63, of Rockford departed this earthly life November 26, 2017, in his home, after a long illness. He was born April 7, 1954, in Rockford; the son of Katherine Washington and Clydale Stephenson. Jolly married the former Bettina Harvey September 22, 1990, in Rockford. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served in the music department. He also taught Bass Guitar lessons. He graduated from Auburn High School. Jolly leaves to cherish many loving memories, his devoted wife, Bettina; five sons, Markevin (Shavon) Harvey, Terrell Washington, Sir Donavan, Larry Charles and William Bean; daughters, Katrina (Eric) Williams, Jalicia Washington, Shaneco (Marcus) and Matrice Harvey; several brothers including, Michael (Rochelle), and Theon (Latisha) Washington, Steve Bell, Clydale Stephenson; several sisters including, Roslyn (David) Barlow and Valerie (Kenneth) Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including his godchildren, Cheyniah and Cheyana Gaines and their father, Chey Gaines who he loved like a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2919 19th Street. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State Street.
